Vester Flanagan Dead: Virginia Shooter Dies In Hospital After Killing Journalists Live on Air

Vester Flanagan
Vester Flanagan, the man who allegedly shot and killed Alison Parker and Adam Ward during a live interview, has died in the hospital after shooting himself.

Vester Flanagan, who also goes by Bryce Williams and was the police’s suspect in the murders, shot himself and was pronounced dead in the hospital.

Alison and Adam were shooting a live interview with Chamber of Commerce director Vicki Gardner when a gunman opened fire, killing the journalists and injuring their interviewee. As time went on, police revealed they were searching for Vester for questioning. He was eventually named as a suspect in the murders.

Vester previously worked with both Adam and Alison at WDBJ7, although he was fired in 2013. After the attack, a Twitter account, @bryce_williams7, began sending messages out about Adam and Alison, accusing the latter of racism. The account, which is assumed to have been run by Vester, also shared horrifying videos of the shooting from the killer’s point of view. Watch the video here

Besides just getting fired from WDBJ7, Vester also had problems with another one of his many employees over the years. He sued his former bosses at Florida’s WTWC-TV in 2000, claiming racial discrimination, alleging that employees had made ‘offensive remarks about blacks and fired him for complaining about it.’ The station denied that that the firing had anything to do with race.
