"When you have a child that plays sports, you're actually giving your child up to those coaches," Combs, 45, said during an interview with Power 105's The Breakfast Club. "You have to be able to take a lot. As a Combs, my sons, they have to be able to take a lot, you can't have no soft skin. But I think there's a fine line, too, and I think that there's times when you have to just communicate and find out what's going on and be by your children's side."
He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and battery. At the time, a representative for Combs said that, "any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son."
The music mogul admitted during the interview on Monday that he's currently not sure if he's allowed to visit the UCLA campus to watch his son's football practice, but said that the incident was a result of miscommunication.
"At the end of the day, it's just about communication," Combs added. "I went there to communicate … It was just a miscommunication. Anybody can relate to if you feel like you have to go and straighten something out for your child."
