Photos: Some Bizarre Guinness World of Records Broken

It’s been 60 years since the launch of the Guinness World Records and in that time there have been a lot of bizarre and creepy achievements.

When growing up Claudio Paulo Pinto didn’t think his skill of popping his eyes out seven millimetres would earn him fame. But the strange talent did and he now has a world record.

See more records after the cut...
Amy Ewing, 26, and Alex Simmons, 32, tied the knot in front of a record-breaking 130 bridesmaids and 103 ushers. The wedding is seeking to break two records: most ushers to one groom, currently 47, and most bridesmaids to one bride, currently 126.

The most pierced man is Rolf Buchholz, from Dortmund, Germany, who had 453 piercings, including 158 around his lips, as of 05 August 2010. He has 16 in his right ear, 15 in his left ear, 25 in his eyebrows, 8 in his nose, 94 in and around his lips, 2 in his tongue, 8 in the rest of his body, 3 in his nipples, 4 in his navel and 278 in the genital area.

Sultan Kösen, who holds the Guinness World Record for tallest living male at 2.51 m (8ft 2ins), and Chandra Dangi, the shortest man in history measuring only 0.546 m (1ft 8ins) met for the first time to commemorate Guinness World Record Day on November 9, 2014.

The 51-year-old Kevin Fast is the World's Strongest Priest and has already broken a staggering 19 powerlifting records over the past two decades and also presided over thousands of services, weddings and baptisms at a Canadian church.

The longest fingernails belonged to Lee Redmond, USA, who started to grow them in 1979 and carefully manicured them to reach a total length of 8.65 m as measured on the set of Lo show dei record in Madrid, Spain, on 23 February 2008. Lee lost her nails in an automobile accident in early 2009.

Adrianne Lewis claims to have the longest tongue in the world! The girl’s tongue is an unbelievable 10 cm long, that gives Adrianne the unique ability to not only lick her nose, chin and elbow but also – shockingly – her eye.

Meet an Indian man who probably has the largest mouth on earth… and the ability to put an incredible amount of objects in it! Dinesh Upadhyaya from Mumbai works as a science teacher at school but when out of duty he puts everything he could find into his mouth just to break all possible mouth stuffing records. He has already broken 48 records by holding 92 pencils, 79 grapes, 12 lit candles, five golf balls in his mouth.

The skinniest waist was awarded to American Cathie Jung who in 1999 had a corseted waist measuring an eye-watering 38.1cm!

Gao Bingguo, who has kept bees for over 35 years, decided to cover himself in 109,1kg of flying insects to break the previous record of 85.5kg. During the performance the man was smoking a cigarette, while bees was swarming over his body, eventually he ended up covered in an estimated 1.1 million bees. By the end of the day Gao was stung over 2,000 times and body temperature rose to over 60C, making him to take a bath afterwards to soothe the stings.

Animals have also set bizarre feats- in 2012 Zeus, a great dane, was named the world’s tallest dog, measuring a mighty 112cm tall at the shoulder and 218cm on his hind legs.

The world’s heaviest twins, Billy Leon and Benny Loyd McCrary from America – known as the McGuire twins – were the fattest to ever walk the planet. The pair performed as tag-team wrestlers and weighed more than 635kg combined. They died in 1979 and 2001 respectively.

Stuffing your mouth with 11 live rattlesnakes may sound like a nightmare but it was the source of great joy for Jackie Bibby because he got a world record for doing it. Click to watch

French man Michel Lotito ate a Cessna 150 plane. Not much more needs to be said really except it took him two years. Click to watch

Kevin Shelley broke 46 toilets seats over his head. That may sound stupid but he has a world record and you don’t. Click to watch

Someone managed to get 109 people to strip naked and ride a rollercoaster in Southend in order to set a world record. Click to watch
