PHOTOS: Bride Invites Her 89-Year-Old Grandma To Be A Bridesmaid At Her Wedding

When you tie the knot, you want your best friends around you.

That's just what Christine Quinn thought when she got married in May in Pennsylvania, US.

But there's just one twist - her lifelong pal of choice was in fact her 89-year-old grandmother, Elizabeth Govern.

Picked alongside two of Quinn's friends and her sister, "Nana Betty" wasn't initially sure her granddaughter would want her as part of the party.

"She asked me about 10 times, 'Are you sure?' and 'Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?'" Quinn told the Huffington Post. "A few times she even said, 'All of your bridesmaids are young and pretty, why would you want me?'
