Kotoko worsen Hearts’ relegation woes in Super Clash

One goal from captain Amos Frimpong in the 25th minute and Duada Mohammed’s 84th minute strike gave Kumasi AsanteKotoko a deserved 2-1 win over rivals Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s 2014/15  First Capital Plus Premier League, match day 25 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The sweet victory has lifted Kotoko from 11th to 8th position with five games remaining.

Hearts have however dropped from 14th to 15th position on the league table.
Kotoko showed brilliance from the outset but it was Hearts who could’ve easily be in the lead when after 22 minutes, bias referee Yao Ametepe awarded them a dubious penalty kick.

The referee adjudged Ofori Antwi to have fouled Isaac Oduro in the goal area but indeed the Kotoko goalkeeper only saved the ball with the onrushing Hearts player jumping over him.

Ofori Antwi thus dived majestically to save Reuben Gnange penalty kick to send Kotoko fans cheering.

Minutes later, Kotoko earned a corner kick. Eric Donkor in characteristic fashion delivered an excellent kick which was headed home by Amos Frimpong.

Hearts equalized 15 minutes into the second half through Inusah Musah but Dauda Mohammed secured the second goal for Kotoko with just six minutes to full time.
