It’s like someone in the family has died- Father of KNUST graduate who left to go join ISIS speaks!

In an interview with the BBC, the father of Mohammad Nazir Nortei Alem, the KNUST graduate who left to go join the ISIS terrorist group, talks about how life has been for his family after his son left home.

Alhaji Abdul Latif Alema says his 25-year-old son Mohammad Nazir Nortei Alema sent a WhatsApp message nine days ago explaining that he was going to join IS, and he hasn’t been seen since.

“O my Father, O my Mother, do not be worried about the decision of your son, for I did nothing wrong but to gain Allaah’s Mercy and Forgiveness,” he wrote.

Mr Alema told the BBC’s Sammy Darko that it is now “like someone in the family has died. Nobody is happy and as for his mum she keeps on crying and fasting and praying that her son returns.”
