Roc Nation Sports is a the sister company of Roc Nation, an American entertainment company that boasts the likes of US pop band HAIM, Rhianna and Glastonbury headliner Kanye West on its roster.
The deal means the Bayern Munich defender has become label mates with a host of basketball, baseball and American football stars as well as famous faces of boxing with Andre Ward and Miguel Cotto adding some muscle to the team.

But the 26-year-old German international is the first football player to be recruited and he couldn’t hold back the excitement, telling Welt am Sonntag about celebrating the deal with Jay Z before flying to the American’s private villa in Los Angeles.
‘I took my sister and my best friend,’ said Boateng.
‘It was a great day with Jay Z. We could ask him anything. We talked mostly about music and football. Jay Z knows about football and has watched numerous games.
‘America is a big market. With Jay-Z and Roc Nation I have a lot, we want to try what is possible,’ he added.

He has recently been with Pep Guardiola’s squad in the Far East, where they beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Shanghai last Tuesday.

Bayern kick-off their campaign against Wolfsburg in the German Super Cup this Saturday, before their Bundesliga campaign begins two weeks later at home to Hamburg.
The 26-year-old also has 52 caps for Germany, and was part of the side that won the World Cup in Brazil last summer.
