Morgan Freeman has paid tribute to his granddaughter E’Dena Hines after she was found stabbed to death on a New York City street.

E’Dena, 33, was found fatally stabbed on Sunday morning in New York City, US magazine People has reported.

And Hollywood actor Freeman has now released a statement following the tragic news about his step-granddaughter, who was the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.


‘The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer,’ the statement reads.
‘Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person.
‘Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.’
According to reports, E’Dena was found lying in the street right outside her home.at around 3am with multiple stab wounds to her torso.
Her ex-boyfriend, whose name has not been released, was allegedly found standing over her body and screaming, according to Mail Online.
People magazine also reports how a 30-year-old man has been taken into custody at the scene.

E’Dena, who was an actress in New York City, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
