Late last month, he was in Brazil celebrating his 87th birthday when he sadly suffered a stroke after an artery burst behind his eye.
He was forced to skip out on the rest of his bash and was rushed to Albert Einstein Hospital where he was placed in intensive care.
While hospitalized, he also suffered three heart attacks, and at one point, his heart even stopped for ten seconds!
But now the Jackson 5 founder is back in action AND back in the States! The 87-year-old was spotted being pushed around in a wheelchair at LAX on Tuesday morning.
Janet Jackson and her family issued a statement the same day to express their gratitude towards all the doctors who tended to their patriarch in Sao Paulo, saying they are incredibly thankful "for their world-class expertise and professionalism."
That wasn't all! The Jackson family also wanted to thank the citizens of Brazil as well:
"Send our love and appreciation to all the wonderful people of Sao Paulo and throughout Brazil for your amazing hospitality, support and prayers. We have been deeply touched by everyone in your beautiful nation and it made a huge difference in our father's quick recovery."Even though Joe was released from the ICU on July 31, and was discharged from the hospital last week, he wasn't able to return to the US until now because he had suffered a fall.
