Not everyone is digging Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy selfies! The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star was reportedly forced to take down an Instagram post endorsing her go-to morning sickness pill after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) filed a formal complaint. Whoops!
Kim Kardashian‘s Instagram has gotten the attention of the FDA and not in a good way! The federal agency has reportedly issued the 34-year-old reality star a warning letter asking her to remove an Instagram post uploaded in July 2015 of her promoting Diclegis, a drug she credited for helping with her terrible morning sickness, after the post was deemed “misleading.” Uh oh, Kim!
Despite looking gorgeous in the selfie and claiming the drug, made by Duchesnay USA, helped ease her pregnancy symptoms, the FDA wasn’t impressed with the Selfish author’s endorsement.
“The Office of Prescription Drug Promotion…has reviewed the Kim Kardashian Social Media Post,” the letter, dated Aug. 7 to Duchesnay executive vice president Eric Gervais, begins.
“The social media post is false or misleading in that it presents efficacy claims for DICLEGIS, but fails to communicate any risk information.” The letter also points out that Kim failed to mention notes on the drug’s label that describes its approved uses. Therefore, her “violations are concerning from a public health perspective because they suggest the DICLEGIS is safer than has been demonstrated.” That sounds pretty serious, Kim!
