GBC Re-launches Payment of TV Licence

The Ghana Broadcasting Corportion has resumed the collection of TV licence fee which has been suspended for several years. This follows a Re-launch Ceremony held at the forecourt of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Tuesday morning.

Launching the TV Licence Fees collection, the Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, Major Albert Don-Chebe (Rtd) expressed appreciation to all the institutions and stakeholders that helped to make the collection of the TV licence a reality.
He was confident that staff will be good ambassadors of the collection to motivate others to do same.

Major Don Chebe said with the resumption of the TV licence, GBC will be an effective public service broadcaster. He said the TV Licence will change Broadcasting in Ghana.

Present were officials from the National Media Commission, Ministry of Communication and members of the general public.

TV Licence Fee are as Follows:

Domestic Licence Users (per annum)     GHC

One (1) Television set     36.00
One (2) Television sets or more     60.00


Commercial Licence Users    

Commercial Licence Users (per month/per set)     3.00
Commercial Licence Users (per annum/per set)     36.00


Dealers' Licence Users (per month)    

Repairers     5.00
Retailers, Sales Outlets     20.00


Dealers' Licence Users (per annum)    

Repairers     20.00
Retailers, Sales Outlets     240.00
